To ensure a smooth assessment process, we would like to provide you with some important information regarding the next steps. The Impact Assessment for the SDG Tech Awards focuses on two critical aspects of your solution: Environmental Impact and Social Impact.
The assessment is designed to be efficient and should take approximately half an hour to complete. In the assessment form, you will be asked to input information about your solution.
We appreciate your dedication to driving positive change, and we look forward to learning more about the incredible work you are doing. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to our team.
During the assessment process, certain questions will prompt you to upload some documents as evidence to substantiate your responses. Although it is not obligatory to upload these documents if you do not have them, it is important to note that omitting them may potentially affect the evaluation of your solution. An explanatory .pdf containing descriptions, screenshots and other informal documentation may be accepted in some cases for lack of formal documentation. Having the following documents ready will aid in making the assessment process more seamless:
Environmental Impact
1. Product/service Carbon Footprint: Please have documentation ready to demonstrate your solution’s carbon footprint. This includes official reports, calculations and methodologies used to measure it.
2. Strategies for Reducing Environmental Impact: Share proof of the strategies your solution employs to mitigate negative environmental impact in specific areas. This includes internal reports and other documentation.
3. Critical Environmental Aspects: Provide evidence of the relevance of the environmental aspects and/or the lifecycle stages and processes your impact mitigation strategies are aiming to tackle. This may include relevant studies about comparable products, Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules, etc.
4. Positive Environmental Improvements: Show documented evidence of the positive environmental changes your solution has made in the specific target areas you might be targeting, such as: Circularity of available resources, Pollution, Water consumption, Energy consumption, Biodiversity loss, Waste generation and treatment. This may include before and after data, monitoring data, customer feedback, case studies, etc.
Social Impact
1. Formalized Partnerships: Present documentation that verifies formalized partnerships with third parties that are essential to your value creation. This may include social media announcements, website reporting, etc.
2. Systemic Change: Demonstrate how your solution is impacting systems, structures, or consumer behavior positively and the degree to which it does it. This may include quantitative data, partner testimonials, public sector collaboration reports, etc.
Make sure you answer the assessment questions and provide relevant documentation for the specific solution you have been nominated for. Keep in mind that you can complete the assessment a second time if you have been nominated for more than one solution.
